Dynamic Facilitation for Earth  & Community Stewards

Trainer: Robin Clayfield from Crystal Waters Ecovillage, Australia

Date: 29 Oct - 3 Nov 2026 (6 days)

Venue: Bamboo Retreat, Kuala Kubu Bharu

It is a rare opportunity to host internationally renowned Robin Clayfield in Malaysia for this immersive 6-day training, held in the beautiful surroundings of Bamboo Retreat, Kuala Kubu Bharu Heights.

Developed and fine-tuned over three decades and 17 countries, Robin offers a creative, interactive and highly participatory approach to facilitation and education. Rather than simply learning about facilitation, you will experience it first-hand through group processes, practical activities, games, reflection, discussion, observation and hands-on facilitation practice.

Grounded in Permaculture ethics, Deep Ecology and regenerative approaches to education, the course explores practical ways to encourage creativity, collaboration, meaningful participation and collective wisdom.

Over six days of living, learning and working together, you will build the skills, tools and confidence to create dynamic groups and facilitate learning environments that are inclusive, engaging, empowering, effective — and fun.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

This is a highly experiential course where you learn by doing :)

• Dynamic Groups, Dynamic Learning methodology

• Creative facilitation and experiential learning methods

• Hands-on facilitation practice

• Interactive and participatory group processes

• Workshop planning and creative resource development

• Games, outdoor activities and experiential exercises

• Reflection, feedback and collaborative learning

• Methods for encouraging participation and drawing out collective wisdom

• Building your own diverse facilitation toolbox

*The course is not designed around teaching one particular subject. Instead, it equips you to facilitate, teach, train, present, lead meetings or work with groups across many different subjects and contexts in ways that are engaging, motivating, participatory and memorable.

BY THE END OF THIS 6-DAY TRAINING

You will have greater confidence, practical experience and a growing toolbox to:

• Create engaging, effective and inclusive experiences where participation and creativity can flourish.

• Facilitate learning rather than simply present or deliver information.

• Engage different personalities and encourage more people to participate and contribute.

• Draw out the knowledge, experience and collective intelligence already present within a group.

• Design workshops, meetings and learning processes with greater confidence, clarity and purpose.

• Use creative processes, games, activities and practical tools in different settings.

• Create environments where people feel empowered to participate, collaborate and learn from one another.

• Adapt these approaches to the subjects, communities and causes that matter to you.

TRAINING APPROACH

The course itself models the kind of learning environment it seeks to create. We recognise that everyone arrives with their own knowledge, experience, skills and interests. Rather than treating participants simply as recipients of information, the course draws upon the richness of the whole group through creative processes, discussions, observation, games, practical activities and shared reflection.

There is also space to slow down, reconnect and recharge. For people working in environmental, community and social-change fields, it can be difficult to step away from the constant demands of the work. Self-care is therefore an important part of the course experience.

The six days create space to reconnect with yourself, with others and with the natural environment, and to replenish your reservoirs of passion, creativity and enthusiasm.

Expect an experience that is practical and educational, but also lively, playful, reflective, collaborative and restorative.
